What Types of Whitening are there?

Am I a good candidate for teeth whitening?

Most adults with healthy teeth and gums are suitable candidates for professional whitening.
Whitening is generally not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Untreated cavities or active gum disease should be addressed before whitening begins.
Whitening only works on natural tooth enamel — existing crowns, veneers, and composite fillings will not change colour. We will flag this if it applies to you.

How Long Do Whitening Results Last?

Whitening results typically last between 6 months and 3 years, depending on your diet and lifestyle. Foods and drinks such as coffee, tea, red wine, and soy sauce, as well as smoking, are the main culprits for re-staining.

Many patients do a short top-up treatment periodically to maintain their results. Good oral hygiene also helps prolong the effect.
